Cave Story

Yesterday Brett threw me a link to a recently released album that he knew would peak my interest. “A Sleeping Destiny” is a tribute to Cave Story recorded by Vernian Process, and it’s apparently so-recently released that I can’t really find much information about it online… I’m afraid my google-fu has failed me! The download comes from VP’s very own website, but heaven help me if I can find any mention of this, or indeed their other video game projects (Covering Sonic, Castlevania and FF7). I expect Brett’ll be along in the comments telling me exactly where it all is, but I’m a bit tired and I love this so much I have to post about it right now.

Cave Story is one of my favourite games of all time. A brilliant 2D scrolling adventure game with a stunning chiptune soundtrack, which I urge you to go and play right now if you haven’t already done so. You can get it free for the PC here, or go and buy it on WiiWare. Go on, I’ll wait.

… … … … …

Told you, right? Anyway, A Sleeping Destiny recreates these tunes in a lovely orchestral style. I love it lots, and so should you.
